We Get to Know You
Filming Your Story
We’ll come and meet with you in person for a relaxed consultation. During this session, we’ll walk through our questionnaire together to help shape the direction of the documentary and define the filming approach, key stories, memories, and moments you want included. This process helps us ensure filming day feels natural, comfortable, and personalised to you.
We then come out and professionally film your story. Filming days are relaxed and flexible, and we tailor the experience to whatever makes you feel most comfortable. You can choose to:

Use a fully scripted approach with a teleprompter if preferred
Most filming sessions don’t take the full four hours, however we intentionally allocate enough time to ensure there is never any pressure or rushing during the process.

Bringing It to Life
Delivered to Keep Forever
Once filming is complete, we professionally edit everything together into your final documentary-style video. We then send the completed edit through to you for review and approval, allowing you to request any final adjustments before delivery.
After approval, your final video is placed onto a premium USB drive and carefully packaged inside a custom gift box, ready to keep, share, and pass down for generations to come.

Meet Brian H - Ballina, NSW.
Brian wanted to preserve his story of moving from Sydney to Fiji in the 1950s. We sat down with him to understand how he wanted his story told, and he chose a guided, question-based approach.
From there, we filmed over four hours, carefully shaping it into a one-hour film that captures his journey and the moments that mattered most to him.
Brian has graciously allowed us to share a small part of his story as a case study.

WHY WE DO THIS
Hi, Lachie here, Director of Your Video Story.
As my grandmother was nearing the end of her life, I sat beside her and had the chance to ask questions I’d always wanted to ask.
As she shared her stories, she struggled to get the words out. Her health had declined, and in that moment she said to me,
"Oh my boy, I wish I had all these stories written down for you."
Not long after, she passed.
That moment stayed with me. I realised how much is lost when stories aren’t captured, the memories, the lessons, the life experiences that shape a person.
I created Your Video Story so no family member, whether a son, daughter, grandchild, or loved one, has to miss out on those moments again.
This business exists to preserve what matters most.
